A Clockwork Life

My entry for the Risembool Rangers "Steampunk Contest". I worked really hard on this project. I spent two whole days just painting alone, and worked a few hours tonight just finishing it. Drawing it took a whole day in itself, too, so overall this was a very trying piece.

I apologize to my friends and those who follow my work for not getting back to your comments. It was not on purpose! School is just handing me my ass, though!

Anywho, I have no idea why Winry is screaming at Edward, but she doesn't every seem to talk to him in any other manner beyond yelling. As you can see, though, Alphonse has his body (yay!) and Roy is helping along in any way he can because he wants to spend whatever time he can with Ed.... Even if that time is used being yelled at.

The boys are working for the brother of the queen to make a self-sustaining flame that will help in the production of automated airships and blimps. This automated blimps are to be controlled using radio waves, a new technology, and the constant flames ensure that humans won't be needed to stoke the fires (since these will be used for war!)

Edward was pressed into service via Roy, who was initially signed the project. Edward of course had to then enlist his brother, and then the two said that working in Winry's workshop would be more comfortable. And thus their story begins as they fight to make the brother's request come true and learn about the reasons the blimp is being made. The brother meets Winry by accident, and falls madly in love (even though he is in his 50s and has a wife whom he's never slept with) and so keeps trying to get time alone with her. The result is that he asks her to the palace, and Winry freaks and runs to Edward. (Thus the screaming you see above.)

I have more story, but little time, so I will end it here.
